WHAT WOULD JESUS SAY?
As we look at the condition of the Christian
Church at large in our world today one might
well ask the question: “What would Jesus say?”
Divided by denominational barriers, willing to
compromise with this world’s values, lowering
our moral standards to fit in with the culture of
the day; these things have all weakened the
Church’s witness as the Body of Christ.
What would Jesus say to our Church if He were to address these problems directly?
In the book of Revelation, chapters 2 – 3, the Seven Churches of the ancient world received messages from Jesus Christ though the Apostle John. These letters sound like they could have been written today. The problems the Church faced back then of lack of commitment, moral laxity and compromise are the very same issues that the Church of the twenty-first century faces today. Jesus is still speaking to His Church through these words of warning and encouragement from the book of Revelation!
During the summer months (June – August) we will be hearing what Jesus has to say to our church at our midweek services on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. Through drama, song, and even the visit of an angel messenger, we will be challenged to “hold on to what we have” as we listen to our Savior’s call to our church.
"Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. - He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches.” Revelation 1:11 & 3:22
